Learn about the history of Georgetown while enjoying the scenic views from the C&O Canal on Sunday, July 18, 2010 with the DC Dawgs. Ride along the historic C&O Canal in a boat pulled by mules and experience rising eight feet in a lock. Hear park rangers in period clothing describe what life was like for the families that lived and worked on the canal. Join your fellow alums as we ''Call the Dawgs'' on our way up and down the canal.

This family-friendly event will kick-off with a picnic in Georgetown before we board the boat for an hour long ride. There are a limited number of spots for this event, so please sign up early, as it may fill up quickly. Seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We had a record number of alums who attended this event last year and we look forward to seeing everyone again this year. For our confirmed guests, please look for an e-mail the week before the event with additional details, including the location of the picnic, from our Vice President, Eamon Walsh.

If you would like to learn more and find out how you can be involved with the DC Dawgs, contact the president Valerie Elston via email (VElston@dcdawgs.org).

A special thanks goes out to our tournament coordinator Robin Muthig for her vision and insight to make this event a success!
