The DC Dawgs are partnering with James Madison University to host a tent on University Row at this year's Virginia Gold Cup at Great Meadows in the Plains, VA.
It's time to break out your best preppie attire and join your fellow Bulldogs and alumni and friends from fifty-five other colleges and universities for a great day of fun, sun and horse racing.
Volunteers Needed
As part of our partnership with JMU we need a couple of volunteers to help the day of the race. Volunteers must be ticket holders (tent + bus) and will help either with sign-in of guests, serve as bus captain, or other simple duties. Your volunteer time will be minimal and you will still be able to completely enjoy the day. Please visit the University Row Volunteer page to sign-up. Thanks!!
Description
Celebrate the 81st running of the world famous Virginia Gold Cup steeplechase race. The Virginia Gold Cup is a grand spring tradition and fixture on the Washington social calendar. Run in Fauquier County since 1922 and attended by over 45,000 guests, this race is one of the largest and most popular sporting events in the greater Washington metropolitan area. Ticket Information
Please note that as of April 19 University Row has completely sold out.
A waiting list has been established and will help distribute tickets IF the University Row footprint gets the approval to be bigger. Each tent will be allowed to sell a few extra tent-only tickets. This is a big 'maybe', but better this than nothing. Please visit this web site www.formsite.com/form_data/URWL2006/ to sign-up on the wating list if your still interested in joining in.
Ticket Prices
- Tent + Bus: $95 Sold Out
- Tent Only: $70 Sold Out Requires purchase of a car pass
- Car Passes: $70 Sold Out Will allow up to 6 persons per vehicle to enter the grounds. Individuals must also purchase a tent only pass to enter the University Row party pavilion area
- Members Hill: $40 Enhance your Gold Cup experience with a trip to this prestigious and historic area of the course. Individuals must purchase a Tent and Bus Ticket or Tent Only Ticket with a car pass to enter the University Row Party Pavilion Area
Tent and Bus ticket holders will need to check in at the mall entrance of Rock Bottom Brewery, Ballston Common Mall, between 9:15-10:45am. Make sure to bring a picture ID.
Tent Only Ticket Holders need to check in with a picture ID at the entrance of University Row no earlier than 12pm.
